Alumni Services

A wide range of benefits and services are available to alumni. For help in accessing any of these services or benefits, please email: alumni@agsm.edu.au

STAYING CONNECTED
Branches & Ambassadors – alumni branches operate in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand (Auckland & Wellington) and London. Branches operate in areas of significant concentration of alumni, while Ambassadors for AGSM programs are volunteer alumni who act as a key contact for the Australian School of Business in the local market and organise periodic alumni gatherings. We are looking for volunteers worldwide to expand the Ambassadors network.

Alumni Online Directory – a password protected, invaluable networking tool with corporate and personal contact details for participating alumni. Alumni can search for other alumni by name, class, geographic region, company, industry and job function.

See Instructions on 'How to use the Alumni Online Directory'.

The Alumni Online Directory is featured in the following video demonstration, which details how to use the Directory, and the Jobs Online services. Click the appropriate link below to access the demo:

“My Details” Personal Record - This online service is for alumni to keep their personal record details up-to-date so we can keep them informed.

Lifelong Email - An exclusive AGSM branded email-forwarding address that enables you to remember classmates email contact details more readily. The AGSM lifelong email serves as a pointer to either your personal or work address. The naming convention is:

firstname.lastname.finalyear@alumni.agsm.edu.au Eg. jane.smith.05@alumni.agsm.edu.au

Class Representatives – a volunteer from each class serves as a key contact to help organise class activities and communications, and to track down lost alumni from their class.

AGSM Dinner – held annually for over 14 years, the dinner, which attracts 300+ guests, is an ideal opportunity to re-connect with the School, alumni, corporate partners and students.

Australian School of Business Magazine – The magazine is published 3 times a year online. It features in-depth articles on developments in management practice and research, and features alumni “Bush Telegraph” and “Alumni at Large”.

Alumni Bulletin – A monthly e-mail bulletin that informs alumni of upcoming events, news, alumni on the move, career opportunities online and more.

CAREER MANAGEMENT
Jobs Online – We encourage recruiting firms, corporate clients, and alumni to post positions on the AGSM password-protected site. With your alumni User ID and password, you can access these postings.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Lifelong Learning – across the alumni network, in every city where there is an AGSM alumni branch, there is at least one event annually to promote lifelong learning and up to 10 are held in Sydney. By bringing both the best in research findings from the Australian School of Business, together with leading practitioners, there are many opportunities for alumni to continue to learn and build professional networks.

Executive & Corporate Development – Full and honorary AGSM alumni members can enrol in any standard Executive Program and receive a 10% discount.

ACCESS TO TALENT
Management projects – Corporate clients and alumni are encouraged to identify projects for students to undertake in teams. These real-world problems help MBA students master the theory and the latest management techniques to deliver solutions to real business issues. The corporate client benefits from low-cost management consultancy and research, and the students benefit from the real-world experience these projects offer.

Recruitment - Our on-campus Career Services tem can help your company identify full-time and MBA (executive) talent to match your needs. There are opportunities for both full-time employment, as well as internships.

Connector – Connector is a student-led business plan competition accessible to students in any faculty or school of UNSW or University of Sydney. Great new business ideas vie for the financial prize. AGSM alumni entrepreneurs and venture capitalists are sought to provide advice to students, provide sponsorship, and judge the competition.

GIVING BACK
Financial Donations – Australian School of Business encourages the support of AGSM alumni and corporate sponsors alike to help the School recruit and retain the best faculty and provide scholarships to deserving students. As the AGSM brand strengthens, so does the value of the AGSM degree.
All gifts are tax deductible in Australia. Visit www.agsm.edu.au/pledge

AGSM Ambassadors - see above “Staying Connected”

Mentoring – Team mentors provide guidance and support to the teams in the Executive Year (EY) of the MBA (Executive) program. Pilot mentoring programs are also being run across the GDM and GCCM programs.

Class Representatives – see above “Staying Connected”

AGSM Speakers Bureau – Alumni and friends with distinguished career achievements are being invited to join the AGSM Speakers Bureau. The bureau will be a resource for in-class guest speakers, branches, the AGSM Conference and other alumni activities.
