Sydney: Business leadership and the social sector

21 October 2009

The UNSW Australian School of Business Sydney Alumni Branch Committee is pleased to invite alumni, students and their guests to an exclusive event supported by Ernst & Young with guest speaker Jon Huggett.

Jon Huggett, who is in Australia as a guest of the Centre for Social Impact, will speak about the challenges not-for-profit entities face in the current uncertain economic environment. He will discuss corporate philanthropy and corporate responsibility initiatives drawing on his knowledge of research in the US on the social sector and his experience in venture philanthropy.

This is an exciting opportunity to network and enjoy drinks and canapés with alumni and business leaders from both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

About Jon Huggett
Jon is a global advisor to CEOs of both for-profit and not-for-profit businesses. He has 25 years of experience in leading enterprises and advising leaders of both private and social sector organisations.

Most recently, Jon has been a Partner at Bridgespan where he helped not-for-profit clients tackle issues including growth with constrained resources and decision making in complex organisations.

The Bridgespan Group helps not-for-profit and philanthropic leaders in developing strategies and building organisations that inspire and accelerate social change. Bridgespan works to build a better world by strengthening the ability of non-for-profit organisations to achieve breakthrough results in addressing society’s most important challenges and opportunities. Bridgespan activities include strategy consulting, executive search and philanthropy advising.

Prior, Jon spent four years as a Partner with Bain & Company in Johannesburg and Toronto where he helped clients with opportunities ranging from e-commerce to transforming the tax service of post-apartheid South Africa. Earlier in his career, Jon worked for The Boston Consulting Group in San Francisco and New York. MORE
